a zine for girls busy being themselves

A zine is an independently made, self-published publication with no strict rules around format or content. They're often usually driven by a passion for sharing ideas, creativity, and building community. brb, i'm busy takes that same hands on spirit and turns it into something girls can read, write in, tear out, save, and make their own.

meet the founder <3

Hi!!! I’m Miranda, the founder of brb, i’m busy.

As a millennial mom, I was SO excited to share some of my favorite  parts of growing up with my daughter. Lip Smackers, Disney staples, singing Hannah Montana at the top of our lungs, collecting stickers (Lisa Frank forever), making elaborate notes for friends, experimenting with colorful and bold styles, and taking silly pictures for no reason other than filling our boredom.

But as we got closer to the tween years, I started noticing how much pressure there was to skip over that fun in-between stage.

I could barely find media or places for tweens to safely exist, and I realized it’s no wonder they are pulled to act older, look older, and move on from things that suddenly felt too young, even if they were still loved.

My daughter, alongside all girls, deserve a space where being a tween could feel like enough. Where girls could enjoy who they are right now without feeling like they need to rush forward to something more grown up.

That became brb, i’m busy!

A zine they can hold in their hands, write in, draw in, tear out, hang up, and keep coming back to. Something that gives girls room to be busy being themselves.

stay busy, xo
